Vision, Mission, and Our 2050 Promise

This is the problem as we see it, and the promise we refuse to break.

Over half of Armenia’s population is now concentrated around Yerevan, and much of the nation’s wealth is centered within a few square kilometers of the capital. Across the country, villages have been dwindling as opportunity disappears. When schools weaken, families leave. When families leave, communities fade. And a nation built on concentrated opportunity becomes a nation at risk.

The current reality is clear: too many students across Armenia still do not have access to an excellent education, and in rural communities, opportunity remains scarce. Teach For Armenia’s Student Vision exists to change that: to ensure that where a child is born no longer determines what they can become, and that every community can build a future worth staying for.

But we believe transformation is possible.

And we believe it will be led by the very students most often overlooked.

Here is our promise to a child born into one of our communities today:

By the time you are 25 years old, Armenia will be transformed, because of you.

You will grow up equipped to tackle local problems using global solutions. You will learn how to lead, how to build, and how to serve. Your commitment to civic responsibility will help galvanize a movement for educational justice. The pride you carry for your community will spark local ingenuity, and the Armenia you inherit as an adult will be radically different from the Armenia we know today, because of your leadership, and the leadership of your peers, parents, teachers, and mentors.

The 2050 Promise is a commitment to the children in Armenia's classrooms today; that by the time they are running the country, the education system that formed them will be one worth inheriting.

Delivering on it means developing Teacher Leaders through the two-year National Leadership Program and equipping them with Change-Based Learning, so students practice civic responsibility long before anyone hands it to them. The goal is the same in every community: children who grow into citizens capable of strengthening their schools, their villages, and the country.

Education is how we reverse decline.

Leadership is how we rebuild. And students are how Armenia wins its future.
