WHAT IS CHANGE-BASED LEARNING?

Change-Based Learning is Teach For Armenia’s signature approach to fostering student leadership and innovative thinking through a structured five-step process:

BIG IDEA
Teachers introduce a key concept designed to inspire students and spark curiosity.

EXPLORATION
Students engage in self-guided learning to deepen their understanding of the big idea
.

PROJECT PROPOSAL
Working in groups, students develop a project idea that applies their learning to real-world challenges in their communities.

ACTION
Students implement their projects, applying problem-solving and leadership skills.

EVALUATION
Students reflect on their impact, assessing their successes and areas for growth.

WHAT HAVE OUR STUDENTS ACCOMPLISHED?

Over the past decade, Teach For Armenia’s Core Program has reached more than 30,000 students across Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) between 2017 and 2023, igniting a movement of young changemakers dedicated to transforming their communities.

Through our Student-Led Innovation Projects, we have inspired over 500 student groups to pitch bold ideas that strengthen local ingenuity, civic responsibility, and global connectivity. Between the 2021–2022 school years, our students successfully implemented 150 projects across all our communities; each one a testament to their creativity and determination to drive lasting change.

In early 2022, our teachers and students launched a nationwide crowdfunding campaign, rallying supporters to raise more than $40,000 to bring these student-led projects to life. This milestone not only showcased the power of student leadership but also demonstrated how collective action can turn innovative ideas into real-world impact.
