Here are 7 frequently asked questions about Teach For Armenia.

While there are other, more vital priorities during the war, we must not forget that access to education is one of the most important rights of children, enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and its local constitutions, and its omission can have a devastating effect on children's future. UNICEF says that if children are left without school, they are at risk of poverty, which can last a lifetime.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, educational institutions in Armenia completely switched to distance learning platforms during school closures. This new educational paradigm showcased how fragile our traditional modes of schooling can be in delivering equal access to a quality education…

This year, the “Step Towards Home” educational program was held online for the first time in its history. Over 250 young people participated from 30 countries in the Armenian diaspora. The program included Armenian language and history courses, various guest speakers, educational games, projects, and activities such as carpet weaving, doll making, ceramics, cork recycling, and cooking.

My goal as a Teacher-Leader is to show students that all that they wish to do with a wand, can be done without one! I want to show them that by working towards a goal with small steps, they can make the improbable, POSSIBLE!

In order to unlock that potential, it is important that we provide our students the space to lead. By promoting civic responsibility, local ingenuity, and global connectivity in the classroom, we aim to cultivate Student-Leaders who will transform the nation.

While the world was in a lockdown, the educational direction of Innovative Solutions and Technologies Center (ISTC)- Zil Academy, and Teach For Armenia (TFA) followed the global trend of transformation of all industries, including education, and quickly responded to the crisis jointly conducting online learning sessions for TFA teacher-leaders, so that they adapt to the the new conditions and working styles.
