ASSOCIATES PROGRAM IN NONPROFIT MANAGEMENT

Since its founding in 2013, Teach For Armenia’s team has developed a wealth of experience leading large scale projects that are having a positive impact across the nation. As we continue to grow, so does our network of mission-driven professionals.

The Associates Program in Nonprofit Management was specifically created for Teach For Armenia’s alumni (meaning, individuals who have completed our Teacher Leadership Program) so that they deepen their skills in leading various aspects of nonprofit management.

As Armenia’s nonprofit ecosystem continues to strengthen, Teach For Armenia aims to fuel this growth by supplying talent and supporting our alumni to offer up their skills as professionals, freelancers, and consultants.

 HOW DOES THE PROGRAM WORK?

First, we help our Associates to establish themselves as freelancers (so that they have greater flexibility to leverage their skills across the nonprofit ecosystem).

Second, we place each Associate in one of Teach For Armenia’s various departments through a one-year intensive residency program.

Third, we match each Associate with an experienced staff member who can serve as a mentor, providing ongoing coaching and guidance throughout the residency program.

Fourth, we organize ongoing professional development opportunities.

Fifth, at the end of the residency program, we provide career counseling to help our Associates identify ways that they can continue to leverage their skills across the sector.

WHAT ARE THE SPECIALIZATIONS?

Through the program, Associates are matched with various departments across the organization based on their background as well as career aspirations. Placements include:

Executive & Senior Leader Support ⦿ Public Partnerships ⦿ Private Partnerships ⦿ Marketing & Communications ⦿ Graphic Design ⦿ Finance & Operations ⦿ Human Resources ⦿ Talent Recruitment ⦿ Talent Selection ⦿ Data & Impact ⦿ Program Design ⦿ Program Support

WHAT DOES THE TRAINING PROGRAM INCLUDE?

The purpose of the Associates Program in Nonprofit Management is to prepare our alumni to lead projects or consult organizations as they consider new programs. To this end, Teach For Armenia trains its Associates to:

Work as consultants, experts, and advisors within the nonprofit sector ⦿ Develop project proposals ⦿ Set SMART goals for the projects that they intend to lead ⦿ Develop evaluation tools ⦿ Create comprehensive project plans ⦿ Facilitate a consultative process with a client ⦿ Analyze SMART goals using evaluation tools ⦿ Write comprehensive reports to showcase results ⦿ Prepare invoices & manage accounting

ARE ASSOCIATES COMPENSATED?

The Associates Program in Nonprofit Management is a paid residency opportunity. Through the residency, Associates can expect to be paid the equivalent of AMD 200,000 (gross) monthly over a period of one year. The Associates Program was designed specifically for individuals who have continued to teach or are engaged with other employment opportunities in the education sector. As such, Associates can expect to devote approximately 20 hour per week throughout the one-year program. Because our aim is to help Associates work across the ecosystem as professionals and consultants, our teams will strive to be as flexible as possible when it comes to organizing program requirements so that they can take on additional projects outside of Teach For Armenia.
